The iPhone has been a massively successful product for Apple. Its compact functionality of a mobile phone, portable media player, gaming console and so on makes it quite popular.
Another feature that makes an iPhone stand out is its frequent software update policy. Many users find it pretty exciting.
However, iPhone’s new iOS 15.6 update is upsetting many. According to some users (1,2,3,4), their Face ID stopped working immediately after the update.
The issue seems to be troubling users irrespective of the model. We’ve added a few reports below for reference:
Many users (1,2,3) also took to the Apple Support Community forum to highlight the unresponsive Face ID issue after the iOS 15.6 update.
Interestingly, for some users, Face ID is working just fine. While others are facing this issue intermittently.
It’s not the first time though that such an issue snuck up after a software update. According to several user reports, Face ID had been disabled after iOS 14.7 update as well.
Fortunately, Apple Support team has listed down some steps to fix the issue with Face ID. These steps include checking up the Face ID setting, latest updates, restarting the device and so on.
Apart from this, there is no other official confirmation or acknowledgment from the Apple team.
We hope the Face ID issue is addressed soon or in the upcoming update since it is used by millions to unlock their phones.
