Foxconn the Apple iPhone manufacturer will soon start the production of the iPhone 15 in India.
The very first stage of iPhone 15 production has begun in the form of initial trial production in China. The iPhone manufacturer is all geared up for the production of the iPhone 15 after facing backlashes in meeting the demands of the iPhone 14.
The company initially planned this for the iPhone 14, but the company didn’t quite hit its goal, with assembly in India kicking off a few weeks after China. But this time the company is all geared up for the production of iPhone 15 in India along with China.
With the beginning of the first stage of production in China, the company is looking to accelerate the timeline of production in India as well. This indicates that the launch of the iPhone 15 is on track, and will likely be unveiled in the third quarter of 2023, possibly in September.
India has been featured heavily in Apple’s plans for its planned expansion to diversify away from China. The report claims Apple is planning to cut down the gap between the production timelines in China and India. Apple is focusing on reducing the production gap between China and India.
Apple is also planning to shift 5% of iPhone production to India, with Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron already manufacturing the bulk of the domestic supply, as well as exports. The manufacturing presence will get deeper as Indian companies like the Tata Group venture into iPhone production. Vedanta also has plans to manufacture iPhones for Apple.
