iPhone XS not vibrating when receiving call/text…? This issue is common on iOS devices. Sometimes you may disable vibration without your knowledge. Here I am going to tell you the solutions to fix iPhone XS not vibrating when receiving text/call.

Solution 1: Enable Vibration

  • Go to Settings->General->Accessibility.
  • Scroll down to “Vibration” and tap it.
  • Make sure that “Vibration” is turned on.

Solution 2: Enable Vibrate on Ring

  • Launch Settings->Sounds & Haptics.
  • Make sure that “Vibrate on Ring” is enabled.
  • There you can see many categories such as Ringtone, Text Tone, New Voicemail, New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, Reminder Alerts, and AirDrop under SOUNDS AND VIBRATION PATTERNS.
  • Choose “Ringtone”.
  • Tap “Vibration”.
  • Make sure that “None” is not selected. If you select “None”, vibration alert will be set to mute (Silent).
  • Select any one of the Vibration alerts under STANDARD.

If Vibration doesn’t work when you receiving text,

  • Choose “Text Tone” instead of Ringtone.
  • Tap “Vibration”.
  • Select any one of the Vibration alerts under STANDARD.

Solution 3: Disable Silent Mode Check whether your phone is on Ring Mode or Silent Mode. If your Phone is on Silent Mode, it won’t vibrate when receiving call/text. So disable Silent Mode.

  • Launch Settings->Sounds & Haptics.
  • Make sure that “Vibrate on Silent” is enabled.

Solution 4: Turn off “Do Not Disturb”

  • Launch Settings->Do Not Disturb.
  • Make sure that “Do Not Disturb” is turned off.

Solution 5: Restart your iPhone

  • Press and hold the Side Button and either Volume Up/Down until the slide to power off screen appears.
  • Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  • To turn on your device, press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 6: Reset All Settings

  • Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  • Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  • Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
  • Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  • Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.

Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone. To back up your device,

  • Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  • Launch Settings->Apple ID (your name)->iCloud->iCloud Backup.
  • Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on. Tap “Back Up Now”.

Factory Reset/Restore

  • Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  • Tap “Erase All Contents and Settings”.
  • Enter your Passcode if required.
  • Tap “Erase iPhone”.
  • Again tap “Erase iPhone” to confirm.
  • Wait until the process is finished and then set up your iPhone.
