Tom Cruise has been connected to portray a character in the MCU for a long time. Cruise was rumoured to play Iron Man before Robert Downey Jr. made the character famous. That opportunity, however, never materialised.
According to the trailer for the Doctor Strange sequel, it appears that the actor’s long-awaited return has been confirmed. However, not everyone is convinced, with some speculating that the person in the teaser is a Captain Marvel clone of Maria Rambeau.

Rambeau was last featured in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film in 2019, in which she appeared with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. Many fans believe the shimmering aura and powers resemble Captain Marvel’s, and it’s quite possible that Lashana Lynch will play Maria Rambeau in the future film.
It’s uncertain whether these two stories are accurate, as many fans are concerned that the cameos are creating far too high expectations. Finally, we’ll have to wait and see what happens when the film is out next month.
