The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been questioning Fernandez regarding her ties with the businessman in recent months. Fernandez has now been accused of lying about some details regarding gifts that he had given her by the millionaire. The central agency is investigating Chandrasekhar, who is lodged at Tihar jail, for alleged extortion rackets worth Rs. 200 crores. Co-accused with him is his wife, actress Leena Maria Paul. Investigation has revealed that Fernandez was given gifts worth Rs.10cr by the accused, along with meetings whenever he was out on bail. Chandrasekhar reportedly told ED officials that he had lent Geraldine Fernandez more money than what she gave in her statement. The actress, on the other hand, claimed that the conman approached her and claimed to be the owner of Sun TV. In addition, he said that he is a huge fan of hers. As she explained, Sukesh promised to make a South film with her, which will be produced by Sun TV. They even exchanged phone numbers, so she continued to communicate with him on the phone. Claiming to be her friend, the accused said he gave the Kick star “15 earrings, five Birkin bags, other bags from YSL, Gucci, Tiffany bangles, and Cartier bangles” as gifts. Additionally, Chandrasekhar gave Fernandez’s parents a Maserati and a Porsche, according to News18. He said he also let Jacqueline use a private jet that he was using regularly. Nora Fatehi, who was also called in for questioning, confessed to having received various expensive gifts from the alleged multimillionaire conman.
