There’s no new Peacemaker episode now that the series has capped off the DCEU’s HBO Max debut with an exciting finale. That means the series’ signature intro dance will continue to live in the memory of viewers and, of course, writer and director James Gunn, who has taken to sharing step-by-step dance moves with his followers.

Peacemaker was created as an unfancied The Suicide Squad spinoff, given the superhero’s relative lack of recognition when compared to other DC superheroes. Nevertheless, Gunn’s writing created a show that, beyond its comedic exploits, packed a ton of emotional baggage. As it turns out, Christopher Smith’s solo adventure did well enough to warrant a second season for Peacemaker, a feat nearly half of the Justice League has had a tougher time attaining.

With that kind of success, it’s easy to imagine Gunn enjoying himself, especially on Twitter where he often shares news and exclusive info with fans. Only this time, Gunn happens to share a 12-step breakdown of how to do the “Peacemaker dance.” The show has single-handedly turned the 2009 song (fairly modern for Peacemaker’s standards) “Do Ya Wanna Taste It?” into a hit, helping the Norwegian glam metal band experience a slight resurgence in their career as the track rose all the way to number one on the iTunes Rock chart and steadily climbed the ranking in other services.

Although Gunn couldn’t properly credit the user who made the image when he posted it, Twitter made sure to let know @kadusaurus that the Guardians of the Galaxy mastermind loved his memeworthy work. Those more rhythmically challenged are in luck, because the choreography itself is nothing out of this world. Still, the “rainbow arms” and step number eight possibly being the hardest parts to pull off.

Gunn came up with the Peacemaker dance as a silly routine that would contrast with the serious expressions the characters have while performing it, which is perhaps the best possible metaphor for the type of show he created. Even though it hits some lofty heights in terms of humor, Peacemaker often becomes deeply sad due to the nature of its traumatized protagonist and the rest of the cast.

Fortunately, Peacemaker gave most of its cast proper closure in a finale that still managed to make room for an epic and hilarious DCEU cameo. Fans will have to wait for season two, but maybe Gunn will come up with an intro that’s just as memorable as this one.

Peacemaker season 1 is now available on HBO Max.
