The newest image of the new Pinhead from Hulu’s Hellraiser revival has been released, giving us our finest look at the character too far. The new movie, which will be available to stream this autumn, goes back to the brand’s beginnings and welcomes franchise creator Clive Barker back as a consultant and producer. Additionally, the movie introduces a new Pinhead, a.k.a. Hell Priest, who is more faithful to Barker’s original novella’s description of the figure. Previously played by Doug Bradley, Jamie Clayton now fills the role in the revival.
A trans actress named Clayton adds a fresh perspective to previous depictions of Pinhead. Following Bradley’s prolonged tenure in the part, other movies with various Pinheads played by Stephan Smith Collins and Paul T. Taylor were produced. In the EW story, director David Bruckner discussed the casting of Clayton, the first female actress to take on the role, and he emphasised how she earned the job with a standout audition.
Bruckner continued, “The filmmakers knew better than to try and recreate the fan favourite performance offered by Doug Bradley in the previous films,” hinting that Clayton will bring something fresh to the table with her distinctive portrayal of Pinhead.
