The Lakers owner claims that Jeanie Buss’ Twitter account was hacked, therefore she DIDN’T launch any side business this summer selling PlayStation 5 consoles.
The recent victim of the popular video game scam, in which accounts are taken over and posted about selling PS5s, was Buss’ social media.
Buss’ fake offer was targeted at her team, with the idea that the proceeds would be donated to a good cause and that anyone who purchased the console would be eligible to win Laker tickets.
Anyone who spends any time on Twitter is aware that it is a fraud, but Buss made a statement on Tuesday to clear up any misunderstandings.
“Lakers Fans, my Twitter account has been hacked,” Buss said on the official team Twitter account. “Please do not engage with it or send any money. These are NOT legitimate offers. The Lakers will alert you when I am back in control of my account.”
Naturally, since we’re talking about the Internet, many people enjoyed making fun of the Lakers owner.
I hope nobody fell for it!
