Here’s the crux of the article in video form

Knockout City is a fast-paced multiplayer video game in which players engage in dodgeball matches against one another.

Players can select from a number of characters, each with their own set of powers, and utilize dodgeballs to eliminate opponents while working together to become the last team standing.

Knockout City shutdown

However, the creators dropped a bombshell when they announced that their servers will be shutting down at 12:00 PM UTC on June 6, 2023.

Season 9 of Knockout City begins on February 28, 2023. This season will last 12 weeks, with six back-to-back events.

Furthermore, from the same date, all real-money transactions will be negated from the game. This implies that Holobux and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Bundles will no longer be available on any platform.

However, unlike Rumbleverse, the makers of Knockout City do not offer refunds for purchases.

Players demand refund

This has enraged the player base, with some taking to social media to demand refunds for at least their recent purchases or TMNT skins, if not all (1,2,3).

Knockout City’s shutdown is heartbreaking for its player base, but they can’t help but be disappointed that they won’t be able to play the game they paid for.

Gamers believe that they should be given a partial refund because they spent time and money on a product that they can no longer use.

Apex Legends Mobile followed a similar route and faced backlash from players while Rumbleverse’s decision to refund microtransactions was applauded universally.

It’s worth mentioning that the developers have promised a Privately hosted server version in the coming months in order to keep the game alive even after the servers shut down.

Although no specific date has been provided, we expect the Private server version to be released around the official closure date of June 6.

We’ll keep an eye on this topic and update the article as we receive more and more details about the Knockout City shutdown.
