A 24-year old Kshama Bindu, Vadodara girl marries herself on June 8 and registers first even sologamy in India.
The 24-year old girl from Vadodara city, Gujarat faced a counterattack from BJP leader Sunita Shukla because she was supposed to carry out her wedding in the temple.
Additionally, she preponed her wedding from June 11 to June 8 at her residence.
However, Kshama mentioned before, ‘I never wanted to get married. But I did want to become a bride. So I decided to marry myself’.
Likewise, she chooses a temple with all marriage rituals along with a priest but she had to change the venue because of counterattack by Sunita Shukla.
The BJP leader Sunita Shukla mentioned that, ‘I am against the choice of the venue. She will not be allowed to marry herself in any temple. Such marriages are against Hinduism.’
‘This will reduce the population of Hindus. If anything goes against religion, then no law will prevail,’ she mentioned before Times of India.
Even the priest backed out for this marriage, so that’s why she opted for a private marriage ceremony.
However, lately she mentioned that, ‘I received no threats but wanted the wedding to be peaceful, so I preponed it.’
‘It was like any other Hindu wedding. I applied vermillion & put on mangalsutra and garland. I also took pheras’, she added.
Along with marriage, she has also planned a 2-week honeymoon to Goa for herself.
