Over the past few years, and with the rise in internet penetration, we’ve seen a general rise of online games, games that link multiple players remotely over the internet. This trend is only set to keep rising as 5G and even faster internets become commonplace.

One example of these games is the League of Legends. Commonly referred to as League or LoL, this is a 2009 multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games.

League of Legends as a service, isn’t immune to the rather frequent issues that such online-based platforms are susceptible to. We’ve seen a few too many issues with this online game in the past.

Now, players of League of Legends are facing an issue that leaves them unable to log into the game. According to a section, they get an “unexpected error during login” when trying to log into their League of Legends sessions.

According to these affected users, this issue has been going on for the past few days, meaning that their time-sensitive in-game possessions risk expiring unused should this issue persist any longer. A 4-month old Megathread in LoL issues has also come back to life in light of this issue.

This issue seems to strike users randomly but according to one of the affected users, it is more prevalent when one switches accounts or servers.

This issue has been extensively reported by League of Legends players on the community forums and in response, Riot Games acknowledged the issue, noting that it is being looked into.

We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb for more on that as and when it happens.
