In the last year, the interest in the segment of crypto currencies, crypto assets and NFTs has increased remarkably, driving their use among millions of people around the world.

Crypto currencies can be used for different purposes. For example, there are people who use them as an alternative savings method to the traditional FIAT money system.

On the other hand, there are people who use crypto assets as a speculative value for trading. That is, buying and selling different currencies based on market analysis and predictions.

There are different methods available for users to store their cryptocurrencies. One of the options is to use hardware wallets, where Ledger is one of the most recognized providers.

Having said that, in the last few weeks, some users are facing issues related to the value of their cryptocurrencies in the Ledger Live app. Apparently, there is some discrepancy when converting to FIAT value.

Ledger Live app crypto asset counter-value issue

Ledger Live is the ‘companion’ app that Ledger offers for users to manage their cryptocurrencies or crypto assets in a more comfortable way and with improved possibilities.

One of the features that Ledger Live app offers is real-time conversion of the crypto asset value to a FIAT currency value. In this way, users always have a reference of their savings (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

But it’s in this section where some users are facing issues. When converting the value of crypto currencies to FIAT prices, Ledger Live app reportedly returns values that differ from the real currency price (1, 2, 3, 4).

For the past 3-4 days (i think since last Ledger Live update) my Ledger Live (desktop and mobile) has been displaying incorrect USD counter values for ETH and BTC.

Often times the price is off by $100 – $1000 or more, and when I try to synchronize there is either no change after the sync, or the synchronization fails / displays “no internet” error. Source

I sent WLUNA to ledger wallet through Metamask, it does show WLUNA and the right amount of coins but no $ value. WLUNA is supposed to be an erc20 coin on the Ethereum chain. How do I get it to show the value? Source

Ledger team is aware, fix in works

Regarding the issue described above, the Ledger team confirmed that they are already aware of the multiple reports. Currently, they are working on a fix that will make everything work normally again.

In addition to the above, they guarantee that the real value of stored crypto assets is not affected. However, there is still no information on an estimated arrival date for the mentioned fix.

Rest assured that we will keep our eyes open for further updates on this matter to keep you informed. So, stay tuned with us.
