At long last, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has released after years of teases and delays. The game has gone on to blow fan expectations out of the water in more ways than one. There are tons of areas to explore, levels to complete, characters to unlock, and secrets to find in this wonderful tribute to the Star Wars franchise.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagais also loaded of fun references and Easter eggs for players to look out for as they make their way through the game. Many of these can be found via exploring certain levels or simply talking to the right characters. Either of these are surefire ways in which the player may be rewarded with a hilarious or interesting surprise.

6 Lego Star Wars Box Art

The Lego series of games goes back almost twenty years at this point. The first Lego Star Wars game released just before Revenge of the Sith all the way back in 2005 (much to dismay of some who had hoped to avoid spoilers), and the series has been a smash hit ever since.

Skywalker Saga comes seventeen years later, and as a tribute to the game that started it all, the player can find a Lego version of the game’s box art on the first story mission of The Phantom Menace in a secluded area.

5 A Very Particular Set of Skills

Sometimes, Qui Gon Jin can be heard saying the line “I have a particular set of skills…that will come in handy here” when attempting a puzzle. This is referencing actor Liam Neeson’s famous line from the movie Taken, in which he promises his daughter’s kidnapers that he would utilize his “particular set of skills” to track them down and kill them.

As Taken is among Neeson’s most well-known works outside the Star Wars franchise, It’s no wonder that this line made it into Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as an Easter egg. It’s a fun reference, and ones that players will most likely appreciate even if they haven’t seen Taken.

4 The Ark of the Covenant

Along with the role of Han Solo in Star Wars, Indiana Jones is undoubtedly the most famous role of Harrison Ford’s career, therefore at this point, most fans have come to expect that there be at least one reference to the Indiana Jones franchise in Skywalker Saga. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga also featured Indiana Jones references, including a trailer for Lego Indiana Jones as well as the ability to unlock Indy himself.

The Skywalker Saga Easter egg can be found in the third major level of The Force Awakens in a crate with three symbol buttons on the back. Here’s a tip: try to spell “Ark” with the buttons to open the crate.

3 Lego Star Wars 2 Box Art

Just as the first game’s box art appears on the Trade Federation ship in The Phantom Menace’s first level, the box art for Lego Star Wars 2 can be found in a secluded area on the Tantive IV during A New Hope. Lego Star Wars 2 was, for many fans, the game that legitimized the Lego Games’ formula, proving that there were plenty of not only new directions to take it while maintaining its identity, but improve upon it with each release.

Some of the ways in which Lego Star Wars 2 improved upon its predecessor included adding new types of puzzles, characters, and extra features like the custom character maker. Thus, it is a very important game in the Lego series, and one deserving of this Easter Egg.

2 Xenoblade Reference

This Easter egg has an interesting story behind it. A former developer at Traveller’s Tales was a massive Xenoblade Chronicles fan, and upon hearing that Adam Howden, the voice of Shulk, was providing voice work for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, he decided to sneak in a little reference to Xenoblade in the form of the Disco Director.

In Skywalker Saga, there’s a point when the Disco Director will say “I’m really feeling it,” which is a phrase commonly uttered in Xenoblade. Shulk in particular is known for saying it due to his appearance in Super Smash Bros for the Wii U.

1 Beaumont’s Second Breakfast

While Dominic Monaghan is unfortunately wasted in the film version of Rise of Skywalker, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga at least manages to get a solid Lord of the Rings Easter Egg out of his inclusion. Monaghan, in addition for being known for his role as Charlie on Lost, is even better known for playing the Hobbit Merry Brandybuck in Peter Jackson’s LOTR trilogy.

Skywalker Saga references this with the Second Breakfast mission, in which Beaumont Kin can be found complaining about General Leia not approving his request for a “second breakfast.” This references a joke from The Fellowship of the Ringin which the Hobbits (mostly Pippin) want to stop walking and have a second breakfast, much to Aragorn’s annoyance.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
