Leon Frierson and Christy Knowings, Amanda Bynes’ former “All That” castmates, are making sure she knows they still love her by voicing their support, and Leon will even be in court for her conservatorship hearing.
Leon tells TMZ… he’ll be at the L.A. courts on Tuesday, March 22 – and we’re told Leon persuaded Christy to join him in showing her support for Amanda.
Christy can’t be there in person since she has auditions, but she says, “If it were me, I would want people to rally behind me. Amanda is a vastly different person today than she was back then, as are we all.”
Christy explains that she and Leon haven’t spoken to Amanda in years, but that they haven’t forgotten about her. In reality, Leon and Christy have been influenced by her.
They’re both appearing on a reality show called “Child Star Reboot,” which is a sort of “where are they now” look at young actors. Leon also broadcasts the “Prime Nostalgia Podcast,” which sheds light on many of Amanda’s problems.
Christy said they have no ulterior reasons in openly expressing their support; they simply want Amanda to know they care about her. “I know Amanda’s a wonderful person and loved working with her,” she said.
Amanda, as you are aware, was placed under conservatorship in 2013 following a series of odd incidents. She has since found assistance via AA and has been sober for several years.
She submitted paperwork in late February to end her 9-year conservatorship, and the court is likely to make a decision during the hearing on Tuesday.
