Owned by LiFi Labs Inc., LIFX offers a wide range of multi-color smart bulbs that do not require a hub and use Wi-Fi instead.

The LIFX app consists of several useful features like groups, effects, scenes, themes, paint, and even custom color palettes.

But lately, LIFX users are affected by an issue where the lights are disconnecting from the app or refusing to connect in the first place (1,2,3,4,5).

Many are reportedly stuck at the ‘preparing device’ message and say nothing happens after that.

Unfortunately, LIFX lights developers are yet to shed any light on the matter, let alone work on a fix. With some reports dating back months, it looks like the issue has been affecting users for quite some time now.

All we can do right now is hope that the developers acknowledge the problem at the earliest and release an update that fixes the issue.

Rest assured, we will be keeping tabs on the matter and let you know as and when we come across more information so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb for further developments.
