Munawar Faruqui, the second confirmed Lock Upp participant, was unveiled by ALTBalaji on Tuesday. The comedian, who has recently been in the news for all the wrong reasons, will be jailed for 72 days alongside 15 other participants in Kangana Ranaut’s jail. Nisha Rawal will be one of the show’s contestants, according to the producers.
Munawar is shown preparing his mike to perform in the teaser announcing his participation, when he is caught up by people and taken to a jail. Munawar is now in jail, and he’ll have to play the ‘atyachari khel’ to stay alive, according to the voice-over.

Due to threats from right-wing groups, more than a dozen Munawar events were cancelled in 2021. Earlier this year, he spent a month in jail on grounds of “insulting Hindu gods and goddesses” during one of his shows. The comedian’s colleagues backed him up when he said the treatment he was getting was unfair. He said that he was imprisoned for making a joke that he had never made.
