However, currently Lost Ark players are facing a curious bug that affects the game’s chat system.
More specifically, Lost Ark chat window is breaking or disappearing when someone sends a message that includes the ‘<3’ text or symbol (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

For some unknown reason, messages that include the ‘<3’ text or symbol are causing the Lost Ark chat window to break (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).
There appears to be a bug that renders you unable to see the chat (while still being able to hear messages being sent/received) when you write “<3" in the chat. Any person that is in that same chat when you write it will have the same bug occur to them. The only way to fix it seems to be going into character select and back in, or restarting the game. If you or anyone puts <3 in whatever chat you’re participating (area, party, guild, etc.) it’ll break it for you and everyone. Yup just a simple <3 and no can see any messages sent. Log out or switch channels to potentially fix. Upvote for awareness, because this is pretty big since it can be abused in area chat. Source
Lost Ark team working on a fix, potential workarounds
The Lost Ark team is already aware of the issue in question and is working on solving it. The fix will come in future updates, but there is no ETA for it yet.
In the meantime, there are a couple of workarounds you can try if you are facing the glitch. The first workaround is to change the chat channel you are using.
