A popular thread shared within the Lost Ark community on Reddit brings attention to a frustrating UI element. When Lost Ark players acquire items, even in the midst of combat, the notification for the items picked up is displayed just to the right of the character. It’s intended to convey that the user picked up the item they clicked on as they clicked on it. However, the negative consequence of this is that the notifications can block a player’s view of incoming enemies and their actions.
What the Reddit poster and those that upvoted it may not have known is that Smilegate has already addressed the issue. In a patch issued on Tuesday, Smilegate introduced an option in Lost Ark’s settings that allows players to shift the found items notifications away from the center of the screen. Instead, the notifications will be moved to the right of the screen. Additionally, the notifications can be shrunk further by having the text associated with them removed, so only each item’s icon is displayed.
