Lost Ark is an MMO Action RPG reminiscent of titles from Blizzard, like Diablo or World of Warcraft. Lost Ark offers a robust amount of customization for players to craft the warrior of their desires. While the localized version of the game will only feature 5 classes to start with, Tripod Studios has confirmed that eventually Lost Ark will have 14 different classes to create over the course of game’s playtime. Lost Ark also promises lots to do in-game to keep players engaged beyond the endless combat, with activities such as hunting and fishing also available.

Now, with mere days left before the title is set to be released in North America and other regions, Steam has officially reported that Lost Ark has passed the mark of 500,000 total Lost Ark players. This, following a stellar display of Lost Ark during its localized technical beta last fall, makes for an impressive debut of the game ahead of its release.

Steam’s breakdown of Lost Ark’s data shows that the game reached an all-time count of concurrent players at 532,476 as of February 8th, and an average of 300,000 players active as of today’s recording. This added with the news earlier last month that Steam had reached a concurrent player record for the platform itself at 27.9 million users, which topped the platform’s initial record of 27.4 million players in November last year.

So far, this news is spelling great early success for Lost Ark’s international release, and positions the game to be the standout MMO title for early 2022. While it remains to be seen whether the title can live up to the potential of Smilegate’s other major MMO title Crossfire, current promotional materials for Lost Ark, which showcases parts of the endgame, shows lots of promise to keep players engaged by highlighting many aspects of the game’s world and playable characters.

Although Lost Ark hasn’t been free of controversy surrounding its localization, the game is primed for a great introduction following its launch. Now the hope lies with Lost Ark retaining its player base following its release.
