Similar to OneDrive, Microsoft operates a managed cloud storage service called OneDrive for Business. Specially designed with businesses in mind, the solution makes it easy for users to collaborate, share and access files.

According to Microsoft, more than 85% of Fortune 500 companies such as Chevron, Nestle, and Goodyear use the solution for everyday operations.

Clients also have the option to store their data on-premises or purchase the subscription service from Microsoft. Unsurprisingly, OneDrive for business supports several platforms including PC, Android, iOS, and macOS.

But many macOS 12.4 users are now reporting that their system is hanging or rebooting whenever they try to download files on OneDrive for Business. As it turns out, the OneDrive app is causing kernel panics which is in turn leading to random system crashes.

Some tried reinstalling the app and restarting in Safe Mode but that isn’t helping either. Here are some reports from macOS 12.4 users for whom the system is rebooting or hanging when downloading files using OneDrive.

Thankfully, a Microsoft Agent has shed some light on the issue and said they are currently working on a fix for the problem. However, there is no ETA on when it the issue will be resolved.

As always, we will be keeping tabs on the matter and update this article whenever we come across more information so make sure you keep checking this space.
