The Dabangg movie villain who is known for his help of the poor and helpless during the COVID-19 lockdown crisis has now announced that his sister, Malvika Sood is going to contest the Punjab polls which are to be held early next year but he did not say about which party she is going to join.
During a press conference at their home in Moga, he said, “Malvika is ready. Her commitment to serving people is unparalleled,” and when asked about party he just said that their decision will be “revealed at the right time”.
Sonu Sood said that Malvika is likely tocontest from the constituency of Moga.
The actor also mentioned that he met Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi and that he was also open to meeting other political leaders, including the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP’s) Arvind Kejriwal and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
He added talking about his sister’s decision, “But it is a big decision of life when it comes to joining a political party, it is more about ideologies not casual meetings.”
A while ago, the actor also met with the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal which sparked the rumors about Sony Sood making a political debut with AAP ticket but Sood confirmed that the rumors were wrong by saying, “No politics was discussed. As of now we have not discussed anything political.”
Delhi CM Kejriwal also appointed him as the brand ambassador of the programme ‘Desh ka Mentor’ which works to provide counseling to the school students about their career prospects.
The actor’s Philanthropy was seem as he booked tickets for migrant workers on buses, trains of even flights sometimes to as to make sure they reach home safely during lockdown. He even worked in arranging oxygen cylinders, hospital beds and other medical equipments for covid patients during the second wave of the disease. He even earned the tag of “messiah of migrants” from the people.
