Today’s gala launch event saw the release of the eagerly anticipated teaser for Mani Ratnam’s Magnus Opus Ponniyin Selvan-1. The audience’s expectations were greatly raised by the one-minute clip, which gave brief glances of all the key players, including Raja Raja Cholan, Vanthiyathevan, Adithya Karikalan, Nandini, and Kundavai.
The film’s teaser was released by the producing company on Twitter. By sharing the teaser, they wrote: “The Cholas Are Coming! #PS1Teaser, #PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada!” (sic).
The film, which cost a staggering Rs 500 crore to for production, will premiere on September 30. The battles among the ruling clan during the Chola era of the tenth century are the focus of the 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki Krishnamoorthy, which served as the inspiration for the film.
The Ponniyin Selvan franchise, which Mani Ratnam is directing, will be split into two parts, the second of which is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2023. Karthi plays Vandhiyathevan, and Jayam Ravi plays the title role, also known as Raja Raja Cholan. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will appear in the dual characters of Nandhini and Mandakini, while Vikram will portray the powerful Adithya Karikalan. For her part in the movie, Trisha Krishnan, who plays Kundhavai, has dubbed.
Thota Tharani is in charge of the magnificent sets that were built in the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad early last year, while Ravi Varman managed the camera and AR Rahman was in charge of the songs.
