Whenever they are not discussing potential features for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, fans of the franchise are usually pitching ideas for new suits. The latest Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 costume request is particularly interesting, though, as it sees fans pushing for an outfit from Marvel’s Avengers.

Thus far, the suit requests for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have been extremely varied. Some looks inspired by the comic book version of Doc Ock have been requested, such as Superior Spider-Man and Superior Octopus. Other comic-inspired requests have been made, with players hoping for an outfit based on Arachknight. Movie suits like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 costume and the Symbiote variant of the Raimi suit have been demanded by gamers as well. Now, suits from other games can be added to the growing list of requests, with Marvel’s Avengers’ Iconic suit highlighted.

While Marvel’s Avengers features MCU outfits and comic-inspired looks just like Marvel’s Spider-Man, it also puts its own spin on the characters’ default costumes. These original designs for the heroes’ base looks are referred to as Iconic suits, and players unlock them by completing a chain of challenges and side missions. Spider-Man’s Iconic looks was revealed in the hero’s first trailer, and it aims to modernize the classic red and blue costume with a few distinct changes to the design.

As shown in the image posted by the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fan, the costume features blue layers on top of the character’s arms, which are usually all red. The eyes are thin, and the spider symbol is unique, making for a look that stands out a bit but is still distinctly Spider-Man. As pointed out by Daredevil731, the official Insomniac Games Twitter did make a positive comment about the suit when it was unveiled, so the studio clearly likes the outfit. With Marvel’s Avengers’ Spider-Man content exclusive to PlayStation, too, Sony could ensure that the costume is added.

While there is clearly some interest in the suit coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man, it is unclear if it will actually happen. When Spider-Man was first announced for Marvel’s Avengers, Insomniac, Crystal Dynamics, and Sony had to clarify that it was a completely different take on the character. With Marvel’s Spider-Man having an Avengers reference that says the team moved to the West Coast, which is where A-Day happens in Marvel’s Avengers, there was understandably confusion about whether the two universes were connected. As such, while Insomniac could likely add the suit, it would risk sparking that sense of confusion once again.

For now, all fans can do is wait patiently for more info on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. With reveals about the sequel’s suit lineup likely far off, though, it will be some time before fans are told whether this Marvel’s Avengers costume will be added.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release in 2023 on PS5.
