One of the top manufacturers of chipsets, MediaTek, has today formally unveiled its flagship processor for smartphones, known as the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. Offering world-class performance and extremely low power consumption have been key goals for MediaTek.
The specifications of Mediatek Dimensity 9200
The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is the first flagship chipset that contains an Arm Cortex-X3 CPU core. Any task you throw at the single 3.05GHz Cortex-X3 core will be handled. In addition, the SoC contains three Arm Cortex-A715 cores operating at 2.85GHz and four Arm Cortex-A510 cores operating at 1.8GHz.
The Dimensity 9200 has extreme Power Saving Technology, which is used for AI-based noise reduction and AI-super resolution tasks, in addition to better thermal design for higher power efficiency.
A fresh Mali Immortalis G-715 MC11 GPU for graphics is also included. It has hardware-level ray tracing and is purportedly 15% faster and 15% more energy-efficient than its predecessor. According to the AnTuTu listing, the D9200 processor will perform significantly better than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000+.
The first commercially available chipset that supports Wi-Fi 7 is MediaTek Dimensity 9200.
